What the October 6 offer includes
The @claudeai account announced the wider opening in two posts at 16:49 UTC. The first lists a year of Claude Team, API credits, special offers on the tools a startup runs on, and office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team. The follow-up adds Founder House, hackathons, and meetups as space allows, and states the Claude-side package: up to $7,000 in Claude products and credits, a free year of Claude Team for companies new to Team, and $1,000 in API credits as soon as the company is approved.
Anthropic’s article states that package and adds the caps. The free year is up to five Premium seats for companies new to Team. The API credit is one-time, available as soon as the startup is approved, for wiring up the API, testing ideas, and running early evals. The Claude Startup Stack is separate: partner discounts and credits for tools from sales to design to data engineering. The opening post’s tool offers are the short form of that stack. The $45,000 combined maximum is in the article. The follow-up covers virtual office hours, the events, the eligibility window, and the Claude-side package.
| Offer | Stated basis | Condition printed with it |
|---|---|---|
| Claude products and credits, up to $7,000 | Five Premium seats at $100 per seat per month, billed annually ($6,000), plus the one-time $1,000 API credit | Companies new to Team. Actual value depends on seat count and type. Supplemental Credit Terms apply. |
| Claude Startup Stack, up to $45,000 | Combined maximum of all offers at partner list prices as of September 2026 | Depends on redeemed offers, plan, and team size. Partner terms apply. A company may be unable to receive or combine every offer. |
Who can apply
Anthropic says Claude Startups launched earlier this year with Claude credits and tools, a builder community, and ecosystem and product news, and that many fast-growing AI-native companies had already joined. The article dates that first launch only as earlier this year.
For this opening, the article and the @claudeai follow-up use one line: startups founded in the last five years or funded in the last two are eligible to apply. Either window is enough to apply. Program approval is the later step, and that is when the $1,000 API credit starts. Anthropic’s reason for expanding is that fast building makes differentiation, startup cost, and tool setup harder, and that time with the people building the models helps founders decide where to differentiate.
How to apply, and what membership adds
The article says to visit the Claude Startups page to learn more and apply. The @claudeai follow-up links that expansion article.
Members can book virtual office hours with Anthropic’s Applied AI team and, as space allows, join Founder House, hackathons, and meetups. Office hours are in both posts and in the article. The follow-up is the post that names those events. From the article, members also get hands-on help building a Claude Marketplace listing and submitting it for review. Anthropic describes Marketplace as where people using Claude find connectors and plugins, and a listing appears across Claude’s apps once that listing is approved. The same article includes the Startup Newsletter, with product and ecosystem news and a chance to be featured. The posts do not name Marketplace or the newsletter.
What this announcement leaves open
The article names no approval rubric, review time, or geographic limit. It cites Supplemental Credit Terms and leaves the terms themselves off the page. Office hours have no schedule or quota here, and the events have no dates. The Startup Stack names no partner and no individual offer amount. Founder House is only an event name.
Anthropic says Claude gets meaningfully more capable every few months, and that a company built for what’s coming can put the models to use the day they launch. That line names no model and cites no measurement. Anthropic’s belief that AI’s benefits will reach most people through companies built on models is the stated reason for the partnership, separate from the dollar terms. The $100 monthly Premium seat rate is the footnote’s way of valuing five free seats for a year. Both footnotes say the amount a company receives can be lower.

Sources and editorial approach
Sources are Anthropic’s Claude.com article “We’re expanding the Claude Startups program to help founders build” and two @claudeai posts from 16:49 UTC on October 6, 2026. Checked October 6, 2026. The opening post lists a year of Claude Team, API credits, tool offers, and office hours. The follow-up adds Founder House, hackathons, meetups, the five-year or two-year window, and the up-to-$7,000 Claude package. The Claude Code changelog from that day does not describe this program. Supplemental Credit Terms, named partner offers, and the application form sit outside these pages. No application was submitted and no credit was redeemed.
