What you can ask Claude to make
Anthropic's article says you can ask Claude to turn data into a dashboard that stays current, and to turn an idea into an animated explainer for a presentation. Asking about company data has usually meant filing a ticket or writing SQL, and an idea that would land better in motion has usually become another static slide, so people wait or skip it. The article says Claude could already help with parts of that work. Now you can ask for the dashboard or the animation itself and see how it was made: each chart shows the query behind it, and each animation is code you can edit. Claude makes the first version, and you decide what gets shared.
On October 8, 2026, @claudeai announced at 19:01:22 UTC that Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion are in beta. At 19:01:24 UTC it said Claude Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta and available on every plan, including Free, and that a team and Claude can edit the same doc, deck, or design. That second post points to the article for the supported tools.
To build a dashboard, connect a data platform such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, or Snowflake, and ask in plain language. Anthropic says Claude pulls answers from that data, builds the dashboard, and keeps it current as the data changes. Other connectors work too. You can ask for a dashboard of your Salesforce opportunities. Dashboards also fit quick, exploratory questions, such as how this week's signups compare with last month's. Click any number to see the query behind it, or ask Claude to explain it. Each chart shows when its data was last refreshed. Dashboards sit alongside BI and analytics tools. When a question needs deeper analysis, the 19:01:24 post says to send the dashboard to your analytics tool. The article names Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, and Sigma, with Looker, monday.com, and Tableau coming soon and no date given.
Who can use them
Claude Dashboards is in beta on paid plans. Claude Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise. Docs, Slides, and Design are out of beta on every plan, including Free. For Enterprise admins, Dashboards and Motion are off by default. An admin turns them on in Organization settings > Artifacts. Docs, Slides, and Design turn on by default on October 15, or an admin can turn them on today.
Anthropic says people have made more than 45 million docs, decks, and designs in Claude. Artifacts now support CMEK. That acronym ordinarily means customer-managed encryption keys, and the article does not define it. Admins choose which artifact templates the organization uses. A team and Claude can work on the same doc, deck, design, or dashboard. The 19:01:24 post describes editing the same doc, deck, or design. If an admin allows it, slides, designs, dashboards, and animations can be shared outside the organization or with anyone who has the link. Anthropic says PowerPoint and PDF downloads look like what you made in the editor, and that decks go to Google Slides as editable files. In the Claude mobile app, you can change a doc, deck, or design.

How to start, and what happens to Design
Anthropic's start is to open Claude and ask. Its sample lines are "Build a dashboard of this quarter's revenue by region," "Animate how our pricing plans compare for the sales kickoff," and "Turn these notes into a deck for Monday." It also says to start with the dashboard you would otherwise wait for, or the report that needs more than a slide.
Motion examples are a 30-second all-hands explainer from a quarterly report, motion on a chart in a board deck, and a product walkthrough for customer onboarding. Thirty seconds is an example request, and the article states no maximum length. The animation plays like a short video. Edit it in the editor or ask Claude to change it, then download an MP4. Anthropic says Claude writes code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images, so any word, number, or timing can change. It also says Motion does not use a video generation model, so there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. You can open the result in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI, or Runway. Canva and Captions are coming soon, with no date. The 19:01:24 post calls that step your video editor.
Since September 16, Design also works inside every Claude conversation, where it can use context, files, and connectors. Anthropic says running two versions slows fixes for both, so it is folding the standalone site into Claude. The site stays at claude.ai/design until December 14. On the Artifacts page, click "Migrate team design systems." One migration brings over every design system in the organization, and the originals stay unchanged until the standalone site closes. Projects keep working there and need nothing from you yet. Chats and comments will be unavailable after the close, and public links to standalone projects stop working then.
What is still unstated
The posts and the article state no dollar price, no usage quota, and no date for Dashboards or Motion to leave beta. Paid plans are not split into Pro, Max, or any other named tier. The article states default switches for Enterprise admins. It does not say whether Dashboards are on by default for Team or for an individual paid plan. No refresh interval is stated.
CMEK is named with no key provider and no list of artifact types. Coming-soon handoffs have no dates. Working together covers a doc, deck, design, or dashboard. The article links a migration guide for more information.

Sources and editorial approach
This article relies on Anthropic's article "Build live dashboards and animate explainers with Claude" at claude.com/resources/articles/dashboards-and-motion, checked October 8, 2026, and on two @claudeai posts from that day. The 19:01:22 UTC post supplies the announcement that Dashboards and Motion are in beta. The 19:01:24 UTC post supplies the wording on Docs, Slides, and Design, shared editing of a doc, deck, or design, and the pointers to an analytics tool and a video editor. The Claude Code changelog, checked the same day, does not describe this claude.ai launch. The Design migration guide linked from the article is not covered here. No separate pricing page was reviewed, no warehouse was connected, and no file was exported.
