What ClaudeDevs says changed

On November 6, 2026, at 19:58 UTC, ClaudeDevs said getting a repository running in Claude Code cloud sessions is now easier on Pro, Max, and Ultra. The post is about that repo step. The Claude Code changelog also describes self-hosted environments for cloud sessions, and version 2.1.318 (November 4, 2026) lets a cloud session on an Anthropic-hosted environment start without picking a repository.

Claude, the account says, figures out what dependencies, network access, and API keys it needs, then saves the environment for next time. API keys are saved securely, so Claude never sees them. The post names no storage location, no other party who can read the keys, and no time limit.

Same-day release 2.1.319 records other cloud-session changes, including a note on /loop timers, permission rules when a session moves to a new worker, /usage, and /permissions. Those notes do not describe Claude working out dependencies, network access, and API keys. The post names no version.

Who the post says gets it

ClaudeDevs names Pro, Max, and Ultra only. The post includes no price, seat rule, or usage quota.

The changelog states a different Pro and Max change. Version 2.1.311 (October 26, 2026) improved startup time for Pro and Max accounts by skipping two network requests on launches within an hour of the last check. In the notes from November 6 back through part of the October 20 release, Ultra is not named as a plan, and this environment setup is not described.

What you can look for

The post names no command, settings key, or screen.

If you already use cloud sessions on Pro, Max, or Ultra, watch whether Claude figures out the dependencies, network access, and API keys it needs, saves that environment, and keeps the keys out of Claude's view. ClaudeDevs says the saved environment is there for next time. The post does not say how to correct a wrong dependency, domain, or key.

Version 2.1.310 (October 23, 2026) already opens network access, a setup script, and environment variables from separate rows in the cloud environment dialog. That dialog is for a person editing the environment. ClaudeDevs' November 6 claim is that Claude makes the choices and saves them.

What is still open

The post does not say how long a saved environment lasts, or whether it follows you, the repository, the organization, or a teammate.

API keys, ClaudeDevs says, are saved securely, so Claude never sees them. The post and the 2.1.319 notes name no vault and no retention period for those keys.

Sources and editorial approach

This article relies on the ClaudeDevs post published November 6, 2026, and the Claude Code changelog, checked November 7, 2026. The changelog notes run from version 2.1.319 (November 6) through the start of version 2.1.305 (October 20). Older notes on that page are not covered. No separate cloud-session guide is cited, and no session was run. The time on the post is when it was published.
